This calculator provides an option for additional fees, such as if you choose to charge for time spent on setting up artwork or logos.

Our method of pricing square footage using this calculator involves multiplying our cost for each square foot of vinyl, including transfer, tax, and shipping, by 2. For instance, if we pay $2 per square foot of vinyl, along with transfer, tax, and shipping, we’d input $4 for “OPTION 1.”

LABOR COST: This option necessitates local research to determine the prevailing charges for your desired process. We suggest making calls or searching for local businesses online, as many have “GET AN ESTIMATE” or quote features. They might charge between $8 to $13 per square foot and $45 to $75 per hour for labor. Alternatively, like us, you could multiply your project investment by 2 and add the labor cost per hour. This approach accommodates the constant fluctuations in vinyl and material costs due to inflation. We charge $150 per hour for labor.

For example, if a car decal project requires 10 square feet of vinyl and 2 hours of labor, the total cost would be $340. This is calculated as follows: ($2 per square foot x 2) x 10 + (2 hours x $150) = $340. However, project complexity must also be considered.

COMPLEXITY FEE: This fee varies based on the simplicity or intricacy of the project, as some projects pose more challenges than others. Examples of intricate projects include applying vinyl to steel rivets, curved surfaces, or tight spaces. Any factor that adds difficulty or delay qualifies as intricate. Our fee for intricate projects is 20% of the labor fee, while for simpler projects, it’s 10%.

ADDITIONAL FEES: In this section, you can include any extra charges that may arise during your project. For instance, if a car decal project requires the removal of old stickers or adhesive, you should charge a fee for that service. Fees can be hourly or a set rate. Similarly, if customers bring a dirty car, which could compromise sticker adhesion, you should advise them to clean it thoroughly to avoid an additional fee. Numerous other potential extra fees exist, so this option is provided for your flexibility.

TAX OR DISCOUNT: In this option, you can customize the tax according to your area’s tax code. Alternatively, you can use this option to apply a discount percentage. For instance, if you want to offer a 5% discount on a project, input -5 in this field.
